None of us could have imagined when the Covid-19 pandemic began that we would still be dealing with the challenges of it today. But that is the reality of the situation for you and your members, both as business owners/leaders and as individuals. And now is the time for you as chamber professionals to reassure your member businesses that you will continue to provide strong, confident leadership throughout these difficult days. Kelly Hall, CCE, IOM, MSL, President and CEO of the Longview (TX) Chamber, shared the following information with her member businesses. It’s an excellent example of a chamber leading the way by seeking out expert sources in the community and distributing needed information.

“On behalf of the Longview Chamber, we care about the challenges companies are facing with the growing number of COVID cases and deaths. It seems that almost daily employers are again asking for guidance.

We encourage employers to utilize the PSAs we created when sharing information with employees. Videos by John DiPasquale, M.D., Emergency Medicine, CHRISTUS Good Shepherd Health System and Helen Daniel, M.D., Internal Medicine Longview Regional have been produced to help you encourage employees to get vaccinated.

I’ve also been asked several times in the past week where to get statistic about cases. If employees are seeking factual information they can still get current COVID-19 statistics for Longview, Gregg County, and East Texas here.

Companies are also continuing to seek workplace prevention strategies. There great resources on the CDC’s website

Please do not hesitate to reach out of you have any questions.

Kelly”

We have secured permission from Kelly to share this with you. Take her example and make it your own. Find sources in your own communities who can provide valuable information pertinent to your area. The easier you make it for your member businesses to obtain and distribute this information to their employees, the more they will see you as on their side.
